Hi everyone, i have made a 3A selectable test load that uses 1N5624 diode, that has a Vf of around 0.8v. The diodes used in the test load are safely rated up to 3A, but at higher currents (more than 1A) they will get hot. I would advise less than 1 minute cycles for high currents. These test loads have switches for you choose between 1.9v (for 780/808/980nm laser), 2.8v(for 635/660nm laser) and 4.7v(for 405/445nm laser).
The parts needed are:
3x 1N5624
1x 1 ohm 5w 1% resistor
1x 4.7k ohm resistor
3x push button switch
