Open can driver.

Hello everyone
I was looking at the ddl circuit page and it says that it is for a dvd burner diode and outputs 200-250ma, im prety sure a long open can can take up to 420ma with a heat sink. What modifications do I have to make to the driver if i am going to run a long open can at ~ 420ma using 2 CR123A (3v).

thanks ;D

Use a 3 ohm resistor instead of the 2 10 ohm resistors and get rid of the pot unless you want to adjust the current to run below 420mA.
And you can't use two 3v batteries, you need 2 3.6v batteries for this driver.

Can you recharge 3.6v CR123A recargibles on a charger for 3v CR123A?
The specs of the charger are:
Input voltage: AC110V~240V
Output voltage: DC4.2v - 300mA

Also how many watts should the resistor be?

Yeah, you can use that charger.
1 watt. I got my resistors here, it's only 70 cents for 10 resistors.

Yup, LG should be good, but don't get any that say, "double layer" I don't remember where or when I saw a thread saying those had weird diodes in them. :-/ Not really sure if these are it, but just to be safe, get one that doesn't say that.
