Hiya LPF folks!

This weekend, my friend who bought this laser from me was staying over, and we did some maintanace on green laser.

Well, first off, we disassembled the pen and revealed the module, and replaced the switch (the old one wasn't clicking anymore, hey, what? Laser is year and a half old :D ).
Next I've cleaned out the lens , now it is spotless, nice clean dot.

We also installed a spacer and one 10440 battery, instead of 2x AAA.

Well, I'll be damned.

This laser was bought as my personal , payed $60 for it as 50mW green unit (year and half ago! :D)

This laser peaks just over 100mW and averages above 80 mW, measured with Bills LPM adapter for DMM (which proved very reliable and accurate so far).

It can light matches without any external optics (I could never do that before).
Beam is perfect TEM00 mode, excellent little unit.

What suprised me most is that the module differs from all others I've ever seen.
Unlike DX pens, the threading for cap on the module is on INSIDE, like O-like modules, cap made to fit.
Also, driver looks different from all others.

Button was thin white one, the one on the pictures is the replacement (fit very nicely, is very nice switch, very soft and easy to use, not pressure sensitive like some out there.)

Well, time for some pictures!

The module:

And here is a short YT video of it:

P.S.
For some reason, YT immediately gave me hard time after uploading, that the video contains third-party content (the song in the vid), how do you avoid that?

Makes no sense, millions of videos on YT are music videos, I downloaded the song from one of those, no copyright or anything illegal on my side.

Help?
EDIT: I disputed and they let it go after 2 minutes... guess that is how it works.
EDIT2: Nope, still disputed... :(

You are very lucky with that module.

btw..driver looks like all other green drivers (I can't see other components because of this foam tape or something like that)

The button side is different from both O-like and DX modules I have seen.

I didn't mean different as in made of pudding, put as in component placement.
The foam is used to stop the PCB from bending when a button is pressed in a pen host.

I could not removed as it is glued on.

Thanks! :D
