This is my review of the " o-like sharp high power 405nm violet laser 400mw/water proof/ focusable"

I ordered this laser on 5-20-2012 and it shipped on 5-24-2012 and they provided me a tracking number on there site and by email on on that same day.
It arrived on 6-2-2012 . So not too bad on the shipping,*

It came in a padded envelope, and the laser was in a holster that is included. No other bubble wrap or anything. On the customs *declaration it was labeled as "flashlight" for gift *$25.00 .

It does come with a rechargeable 18650 battery and charger. The battery is IRC 18650 2200mAh 3.7v. It took about three hours for the battery to come to a full charge. The charger flashes red until *it is close to charged, then it flashes green and red till it is fully charged at witch time it stays green.

The laser host is a gun metal gray color, and has a cool look to it. It measures 5 and three quarters inches long, and has an average width of around 1 inch. It has a hex section toward the tail cap, that along with the the shape of the focusing head allows it to be sat on flat surfaces without it rolling around.
It also has a clip on it witch could come in handy.
*There are no warning labels or identifying marks on it as to what power it is, or color. Only a sticker indicating witch direction the battery goes,*+ side to tail cap.

I put on safety goggles and placed the battery In and it's threads feel smooth, for something from china. There was no slop or wiggle of the battery inside the host. It is a good fit.

To my surprise the laser did not work. I tried some tricks I herd of reading some posts here at LPF. like using a short piece of wire to touch the plus side of the battery to the threads of the host without the tail cap on, in thinking that there may be a problem with the clicky. But no such luck!

I contacted o-like and informed them of the problem. And Susie had me try the the wire thing and said to wipe the threads of the tail cap and the host with a clean cloth. I did, and still no luck.

*After a few days of emailing Susie at o-like, she, at first was thinking I put the battery in the wrong way. But I let her know that the sticker on the unit clearly shows witch way to place it. So finally she said she would send me a new module to fix the problem. That was on 6-5-2012*

*I'm thinking that these lasers must not have reverse polarity protection in them, by the way she was worried about putting the battery in the wrong way.
**I'm waiting for some kind of response to my emails to Susie of o-like . She has not responded to my request for a tracking number. The last I herd from her was when she asked for my address again so she could send the module. That was back on 6-5-2012 it is now 6-14-2012.

*In the mean time, while I wait, I decided to remove the module from the host. I'll have to do it sooner or later to replace it. It looks like the diode is a direct press into the heat sink. It threads out of the front of the host. But it took a good grunt to get it broke loose. There is a pic. of it here.

The replacement module finally arrived on 6-30-2012
I threaded it in the host, recharged the battery and put on *my safety goggles. A click on the power button, and hay! *It actually works now.

The beam is visible in daylight, and it does not take much turning of the focusing head to adjust from a wide, almost flashlight like Beam, to a good tight focus. The two o rings on the host under the focusing head *make it stay wherever you leave it very well.

Over all, I am happy with this laser.
*That being said, all the headache of getting o-like to agree to, and send the module to make this laser work, like it should have when it first arrived, makes me not want to purchase anything from them again.

The laser it self, I'm am happy with. *O-like, and "Susie" their customer service person, not so much!

Hope you liked *the review, and thanks for checking it out.

I will add some pics. When I get to a wifi spot. I live in the sticks, with no web access but my phone, witch does not size them properly for the forum.
Edit: adding pics.
This is my first review, so feel free to let me know if I could have missed something you would like to have seen.

Edit: the thing went led on me this morning while I was pointing it at some glow in the dark stuff of my duaghters. It only lasted 5 days! After all the bull crap I put up with getting it to a point that it worked.

O-like sells crap!!!!!!!

Don't buy from these thieves.

Wow that really sucks. So did you just give up with it? Sorry about your bad experience.

I actually just bought my firs O-like laser with the same host except it's a 250mW 650nm. It works great and everything has gone so smoothly. It's crazy that some people get good stuff and some dont. It seems like with these China companies, it's the luck of the straw to what you recieve.

The thing is that I love this host. Not just cause it looks nice, but it's so tiny. I can't believe they sell a near 1W 445nm in that host.

Anyway, I was really thinking deeply of buying your exact laser. It's such a nice host. I'm sure you would say not to right? However, evidence seems to show with these cheaper laser sites it's really is like rolling dice.

I would not recommend No-like to anyone, just because of the way that they have treated several of their coustomers, myself included.
They do have some nice looking lasers, and some of them seem to work as they should. But in my opinion the lasers that are sold by sellers here on the forum are much better quality and the people here are trustworthy!

I like their laser designs, but to date, I've had issues with six of the seven lasers I got, and on the one that was good, shipping took 45 days. Well, not so much shipping as just getting the laser in the mail.

O-like has been hit and miss for me also.
Got a 200mw green Sharp. Works great. One of my favorites.
A 250mw red Power Rock. Way under spec. Was 150-160. Took it apart to use the host for something else. (I put a green module in it)
Got 3 green modules. Two working OK. One "burned out" and stared smoking or what ever, first day I started using it.

I just saw your post, glad to here that someone is getting the kind of service that should be given to all of their customers.
I still won't buy anything from them again though.
I respect that. However I love O-like right now. If you go back to that link, You can see I bought another O-Like Sharp Host...this one the 1W 445nm.

This time the laser arrived in 3 days. It was literally in Hong Kong on monday, and in my hands on Tuesday...Of course I paid for DSL, but that's is still super fast.:)

Thus far I love this laser. I already knew I loved the host cause of the size, feel, etc, but I really needed a waterproof 445nm and this is perfect.

You may no-like I Really-like, heh. I feel bad you had trouble with them though, and I'm sure if it happened to me, id be just like you right now.
