Hello fellow beamers. I have been modifying laser gunsights to make them more effective for daytime use. Bought a couple of green modules with the spring and no wires, which worked great to replace the weak modules in the gunsight hosts. All I had to do was bridge the switch with a bit of wire.
Ordered a red 150mw and it came with switch, wires, and spring. Seemed obvious that all I had to do was cut the wires off, bridge switch and install into host same as green ones. Nope.
The module will light in the host if I tie the black wire to the spring and reverse the battery. Will also light outside of host with black wire and - end of battery on spring with red wire touched to + end of battery. Will not light if I connect battery - to spring and jumper from + end to module case as with the greens.
What is the difference between the red and green modules and what is the simplest way to install it without having to reverse the battery in the host?
Thanks.
Ps. I searched the forum for similar issues but didn't find a specific answer.
