Nice 6" HeNe tubes on fleabay

But there's always room for another little HeNe right?! :eg:

I really don't either (in fact I'm watching another seller for a case I can use to protect my HeNe tubes in so I can finally clean up my work room) but I've been looking for a small red tube that shows a good amount of plasma. The little red uniphase I got in the kit from Sam is a nice tube but only shows about an inch of plasma.

Heh yeah I suppose theres always room :p but with me moving and all and having all my electronics in boxes and not knowing whats where its a little difficult to make a proper PSU plus it would just be ONE nore thing I never use :p
Yeah cases are really nice for storing stuff you dont want broken like hene's.

What kind of case?

Nice find and they look like nice little tube! The price is right too.

Double check with someone here on the forum but I think that these PSU's will lite that tube.

I'm going to google the tube's part number and get its specs once it gets here but my gut feeling is that PSU should work. I hope it does because I'd like to keep a 1:1 tube:PSU ratio. I know some 6" tubes use 3ma and others 3.3. If it turns out to be a 3.3ma tube I'll have to defer to the more knowledgeable people here but but if the voltage is in the correct range I don't think the .3ma would make too much of a difference for hobbyist use.

Awesome, I'm excited!

Anything else special about these that I should be aware of? I'm going into uncharted territory here (for me). :D

I will post up a wiring diagram for you when I get mine. It is not hard to wire you just need to put a couple wires together on the power side.

Oh and DO NOT forget to discharge the tube befor handing. It will nail you but not to bad.

Here you go. I got the PSU's today but, they are not 4.5-6 volt input:mad: It takes 9 volt min. input like all the others I have. Oh well. So here's how you wire it up. The big red wire with resistor goes to tube + and small black with eyelet goes to tube - . Now the small wires in the black connector are for power input. Red is + 9volt, the black -, the white with yellow tracer goes to + input and the white with black tracer gets capped off (not used).

Looks like mine is being shipped right now.

Ok, so just to be clear, it's a bit tricky to tell from the picture:

Now the small wires in the black connector are for power input. Red is + 9volt, the black -, the white with yellow tracer goes to + input and the white with black tracer gets capped off (not used).

So red and white with yellow tracer both go to +9V input?
