Hi All,

I'm talking to CNI about purchasing a laser. This will be my first laser. I am torn between deciding on a 100mv or a 350mv laser. Can someone voice their opinion on how much more happy I'll be with the 350? I mainly care about a highly visible beam - how much brighter does the 350mv appear?
Thanks all.

100mW of 532nm are quite bright....350mW is going to definitely be visible....no matter what you get though, make sure you get good Laser Goggles....even better ones if you go for the 350mW. I see this is your first post so welcome to the forum, but be sure to introduce yourself in the welcome section so we can get to know you. :)

Yes I will definitely get a good pair of goggles. Can anyone put a X factor on the amount of fun I'll have with 100mw vs 350mw :) Sorry for such poor questions but I'm really excited to go outside with one of these

If I recall correctly - four times the power doubles the visibility. So if they are both at spec, the 350 will be around twice as bright. With that said, CNI lasers are often overspec; I wouldn't be surprised if the 350 pushes out well over its rating.

There is a CNI group buy in the works, you might want to look at it as it may give you a better deal:

If it's a cni laser they are all amazing. I have a 112mw 405nm cni pen I absolutely love it, I baby it. 100mW you can do the tricks with like pop balloons light matches, see the beam at night. 350mW will be awesome. Super bright. but is going to be really expensive when compared to the 100mW. I would personally go for the 100mW first get the feel of things before you invest in a 350.

I have a 150mW 532nm, its more than bright enough for me. When I compare it to my 445nm 750mW guy it's still bright.

Hope this helps

With 350mW though, you will be able to burn more, thicker, different colored items. If that is on your to do list with your future laser, then you may want to get the 350....of course if you want burning I would say go for a bluray, 445, or a red. I don't know which specific ones you are looking at but look at the duty cycle for each, that will tell you how long you will be able to run it at a time and that may play into your decision.

Adam is right when it comes to brightness. A 350mw greenie will be almost twice as bright as a 100mw one. In my opinion, 200mw is a nice balance, but if you've never has a greenie more than 5mw, even a 50mw pointer will blow you away!

When I got my 50mW green about a week ago I was absolutely mesmerized.....of course I had never even seen a green in real life before so the jump from zero to 50mW was an amazing one! Can't wait for the replacement to arrive as the unit was defective

Can someone comment on CNI PGL-III-C-532 vs PGL-III-532F? I am looking to buy a 350mw C-532, but wondering if I can get same type of power out of a focused 200mv F-532? Thank you.
