OK so i want to build another laser because I've got someone interested in buying my S4 with m-140 and I'm going to making some good profit on it. i've got some things i've sure about like the battery and host but not sure about the diode or driver. i want this laser to be powered but 1 X 18650. i would like it to push like 1.8A. i know i could run 2 AnothoT boost drives and get close to that but what are my other options? Thanks for your opions in advance.

Host: Grey guidesman+heatsink (CajunLasers)
Diode: M-140 or 9mm 445 (DTR)
Driver: ???
Battery: panasonic NCR18650A
Lens: 3 element or possibly g-2

That's for powering the m140? I'm actually leaning toward getting one of those 9mm 445 I've been seeing people putting up big numbers. What's the recommended power for those around 2A.

That driver is capable of 2Amps but you will need different resistors ;)

IMO the best setting for a m140 is about 1.6a with a g2 lens. Youll be outputting near 2w with that which is great because youll get a combination of a good output with a better duty cycle than 1.8a. If you want 2.5w than a 9mm at 2a sounds perfect

well so far the closest to 2A on a boost drive would be by lazeerer and his drive pushes 1.8A so that would probably be the way i go with the 9mm.

OK so after some research and talking with lazeerer I'm thinking for a 9mm build a boost drive isn't really the way to go and a buck drive is probably where it's at.

Yea I am. Just waiting on his driver the host and cells. Already got my 9mm and g2 thanks to dtr and his quick shipping. Can't wait for this thing to come together. But kinda wish I had a bigger host for this setup but with no lathe you kinda have to work with what you can get. But I'm seriously considering the hf mini lathe.
