My first 200mW 532 nm laser has just been ordered.

Anyways, is 200mW enough to slightly mark steel? The device is a no name brand so I doubt its fully 200mW, but I dont know if there is a way to trick it up or not.....

Also, if I could get my hands on say a laser diode of roughly the same power, what do I need to do to get a focussed beam and where would I get plans for a driver curcuit to suit?

^Take it easy.. first post.

@ the OP: To mark steel requires Watts, not mW. As to your question about the driver and focusing, the easiest way to find that info is to search the forum using the search bar..

TBH I thought this was a joke... :undecided: ElektroFreak is right though, 200mW will not mark steel. To focus you will need a lens in an aixiz housing with the diode mounted in it, for a driver, get an rckstr driver from modwerx.
