Hello everyone,

I have been stalking this board for like 2 months and finally registered.

I am looking to mod my laser display system to include blueray violet. Right now I have a sik-99 projection unit in 150 mw green. I want to mod the housing to mix the green and the violet.

Here is what I bought from modwerks

1 adjustable laser diode circut board
1 blueray burner diode PHR-803T
1 backup LPC-815 diode still in the dvd housing
1 adjustable focus laser module and lens.
1 labstyle heatsink

I am a bit stumped as to how I will be able to hook up 110 ac power to the circuit board. I want to avoid battery use as they are just bad for the environment with long-term 8 hour use.

My 150 mw green has galvos and does simple animations. I wanted to position the 2 colors into a V into the galvos. I think it may be easier to add an additional 110 plug-in for the other diode as opposed to try to use the same one for 2 circuit boards.

My knowledge of electronics is really limited, but I feel the only way to learn is to try it. Hopefully not blowing a few diodes/circuits along the way. Expect many stupid questions from my way.

Welcome to LPF. Enjoy your time with us here.

The simplest possible way would be to get yourself a small wall transformer like the kind that power telephone answering machines. Radio shack still sells the one with the voltage switch on the front, set it at the appropriate voltage an your ready to go.

There are some mention of this on the forum, run a search or two, search for keyword "wall wart" (nickname for adapter transformer) have fun!

I have compiled a list of "must read" information, it will make your time with us more productive and pleasant.
