New from Northern California

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum and new to lasers! I recently got interested in them while trying to research a laser in the last week for my Springfield 1911 TRP. I'm currently on vacation in Greece and found a 100mW 532nm XY-850 from China. I just bought it two days ago and realized that I think I way overpayed for it but oh well hah (hopefully I make it through customs! I'll separate the battery from the laser like it should be and put it in a different bag that I'll check instead of carry on). Anyway, I've been doing lots of research this past week and have a couple questions (and yes, I have just finished reading Livinloud's safety sticky! Now I need a new charger because mine came with that cheap ass thing). As hobbies I enjoy philosophy, breakdancing, and gaming (I play a lot of BF3 and Rollercoaster Tycoon 2!). Now you know a little bit about me and I look forward to getting to know you guys!

yes, i also read daguin's and Mmllory1's stickies for newcomers. Just trying to take things seriously here. I know how it is for joining new forums! Now to purchase some safety goggles when I get home from vacation :yh:

Uvex S0360X Ultra-spec 2000 Safety Eyewear, Orange Frame, SCT-Orange UV Extreme Anti-Fog Lens - Safety Glasses - Amazon.com
The last one are not real laser safety glasses but have been tested by members here and are used by many of us, good for UV through violet and blue. There are also many others to choose from and you will eventually need more than one pair.
