Lately I have been trying to find a suitable hand-held laser which is more powerful than my 5mW pen :D, but also somewhat safe from 'reflections' off objects and walls (my walls are White in Color).

Honestly, I have never seen a 65mW green laser's dot before and would ask how dazzling it really is (perhaps a comparison to 5mW). My 5mW is already rather bright which concerns me when heading to higher powered lasers. I've heard that it might be Too Bright to view without safety goggles in close range, is this true? (10-15ft away from a white wall)

Considering the Alpha 65/45. Any comments/suggestions? :)

A 65mW green laser will be very bright if you have never seen one before. Although in my opinion, it is still a bit dull. The beam will not be really solid in the night sky, but it will be very noticeable up close. You won't do much burning with <100mW but goggles are a good idea if you are going to be using it indoors a lot.

The Alpha is a very good laser, but if you are looking for a pointer, I would recommend you get a smaller pen style laser.
For less than 90mW, I would recommend pen style lasers, since safety features on lower powered lasers can make it cumbersome and inconvenient. However, safety features are good if Legal importation is important to you.

In my opinion 40-75mW is the perfect power range for pointing. 100-200mW is much more impressive, but unnecessary if you are not serious about the hobby.

Also, if you don't mind waiting, you may want to check out the CNI GB hosted by scopeguy20 (Glenn). CNI is the manufacturer of Laserglow, Dragonlasers, and Nova. You can get the Alpha in the GB for less than what you would pay at Nova, only you will have to wait about a month while the GB is organized.

Hope this helps!
