Hi,

I need to find a store so i can order some PHR-803T diodes using a credit card, Last time i ordered some diodes i used paypal and the government will only let me use credit cards...

Anyone know of a good place???

Aint .gov work fun? Don't forget to fill out your timesheet, including the time spent here on LPF:crackup:

Seriously, HTD or Modwerx can help you out. Please don't buy all the diodes!

yeah buy from modwerx. because i want to but from HTD without everything being sold out heheh i love HTD

yeah what are they being used for? or are you a noob looking for a quick answer lol.
cheers

Well... let's see... referring to the inflated prices the Gov paid for toilet seats
an other things... I have 10pc PHR803T LDs still in sleds...
I can let NASA have them at the incredibly low Price of $189,000.00 USD
and I will personally deliver them on my Harley...

Just send me the Purchase Order and it's a done deal...

Jerry

hey thanks everyone, looks like HTD is the place to go. (and i only need a few of them)

Anyways, these LD's are going into a pulsed xray source for a long range (uninterceptable) xray data communication orbital satellite network.

We are developing proof of concept and in a few months these 803t diodes might be getting shot 400 kilometers above the earth via a sounding rocket were developing here at Goddard.

i might be able to share some photos if you ask nicely ;)

Dude I don't know if this is for serious or what but I just laughed my face off

Good one ! :D

So 100mW of 405nm light will be used in 400 km distance though atmosphere communications?

Yeah, and Chuck Norris just got beaten up behind the corner of Alpha and South Bohan.

not quite... your interpretation of what i was explaining is wrong. its satellite to satellite communications in a vacuum, and the diode is only the excitation source for the production of xrays.

Well with such an opening sentence to a post one would expect an explanation as the confusion in the poster - your truly- is as subtle as fireworks display.

Would you care to debate the topic further so even the ones that do not fully yet comprehend the mastery of sarcasm can understand it?

In other words, WTF?

EDIT <- Write an EDIT after and EDIT , now my post does not make sense if one does not noice the quote containing only partial statement of yours - the one before the EDIT

This is one of the sweetest kind of uses for these diodes I have seen. Being a researcher myself I am starting to learn how awesome the internet is, and how effective it has become at having extremely useful information from pros like you guys.

May I ask what NASA base you are based at? I worked in a NASA lab a few summers ago, in Hampton, VA, at NASA Langley.

Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in greenbelt maryland, Astrophysics and exploration sciences building.

What kind of projects were you working on when you were at nasa??
