Thanks to all the help from the kind forum members here, and for all the good information. I took a Garrity LED flashlight from Wal-mart for $12, made the infamous DDL circuit, a Senkat diode, at about 260 mA. It burns pretty well. I can't hold it steady enough, but if I set it down, it can burn pretty good distance away. Here is a video of it burning through a plastic packing crate that Hard Drives come in.
