So I finally finished my Kryton groove LPC-826 build! (Well actually, I finished it a while ago but I'm finally posting it) It is running with a Rckstr running at max current which I think is around 430 mA. I also purchased one of those "broken" 473's on ebay. It was easily fixed by switching the leads on the TEC for the crystals. So, without further ado, some picures!

Some shots with the red and the blue

The divergence on the blue is bad, but not as bad as I thought it would be. At 12 yards, the dot is about the size of my palm.

That is a pretty sweet red laser. I want to build a red laser next because thats the only one I don't have yet.

I like those beam shots, are they with any kind of smoke or fog?

Red is hardly visible, so I'd say yes.

Also, nice job with the build! Red is the only laser color I'm missing from the cheaper colors, I may build one soon.

The divergence of those 473's can be improved, it just takes some creativity. I improved one of mine using the initial concave expander off a broken green, an aixiz module, and a regular uncoated acrylic lens. (and some hot glue. :P )

What I did was epoxy the lens out of the green in the diode pocket of the aixiz module, then hot glue the whole thing to the front of the cavity housing in the 473.

Just using the acrylic by itself will help somewhat providing you can get it where it wants to be for least divergence, but the results won't be as good as they would be if you expanded the beam slightly first.
