So I decided to build a 445 before buying one from WL (if ever). This is mainly because I trust myself/LPF more than wickedlasers and their spyder. It's also too big... (that's what she said hehe)

So I just want to know if the following will work together:

-A-140 diode from Dave
-This Host: DealExtreme: $12.55 SAIK RC-A2 Cree P2 AA Flashlight (Gray)
-Custom heatsink/module I got from IgorT earlier. (might not sell it afterall) designed for the host above.
-Aixiz 405nm glass lens
-Micro Flexdrive V5
-14500 cell. (lithium version of AA). 900mA rated capacity.

What I need to mainly know is:

Can the battery/driver safely supply 1000mA to the diode ?

PS: I will use a duty cycle of around 15s ON / 30s OFF or soo. So not much use...

I'm not familiar with 14500s. If it Strobes when you turn it on you can just turn down the current. I think you could have a slightly longer duty cycle. My 445 set to 875ma can run for about 30, or 40 seconds before you can start to feel any heat.

I'm more concerned about the driver. The battery should be fine.

Can a flexdrive handle 1amp for a 445 ?
