i have totally gutted a minidorcy ( boost curict and all) and all i have is a plate for the batt + contact with a tab on the other side for connection now what curcit would i need to driver a bluray from the rcr123

i know it will be a boost of around 2-3x voltage and current protection now i have heard of people running a bluray from 1 or 2 AAs now i was looking at being able run a driver form the cr123A at adjustable by pot 20-180mA (for PS3diode-6x writer) that is the right size to fit i have also gutted all the rest of the dorcy and i have a axixz head with a fitting heatsink for the dorcy so lots of room to work with

i have heard drlavas 2nd design "lavadrive2" had boost capabilities so when thats out but what size is it?
( i can do very good soldering once i have a design and pcb printed)

any other ideas this project will be slow no funds for diodes yet

and once (if) it works i will make a tutorial for people to follow

Hi, the lavadrive2 dimensions will be 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch in its default form. With trimming it can be cut to a minimum of .410 by .490 (10.5mm x 12.5mm)
It will be available in a matter of weeks in two flavors:
blu-ray (for driving PS3 to blu-burner diodes)
red burner (for driving high-current red laser diodes)

<<<<<<<<<-- looks about frantically trying to find out where to get into the line --

dorcy original was totally decimated in removal :P i also lost the led mount and its attached plastic mounts somewhere but i will glue the heatsink that fit the dorcy head (thx kenom) once its in so it wont move around but below that is a heck of a lot of room between the orig driver plate location (batt connection plate) and the diode head about 18mm methinks (more than enough) but thanks kenom for the other thread i wont make a tut thats more than enough info on that thread ( and easier)

anyway i think when i get a 6x i will put it one of kenoms barrels (look awesome)
