Microflex Drivers?

I really need 2 or 3 more of those, and they seem to be unavailable. Does anyone know of any still out there? Is there any substitute that can make 1-1/2 watts? 1 watt just isn't going to do it for me. I can build a driver that will make the power, but not that will fit in the project's host. This has me in a bind. If anyone can help me out, please contact me:

Thank you

AWSOME!! Do you think that the 445nm diodes from the projectors can safely take 1.8A? If I'm not mistaken, the microflex put out 1.6A, right? They'll take all of that all day long, but how far can we push those?

I sent him a pm a few minutes ago. I am more than willing to try the Mohgasm driver, though. I'm just not sure if I can get away with the 1.8A version, or if I should play it safe, and get the 1.6A version. I want all the power I can get, without toasting the diode, of course. Can't have too much power.

Nobody has an opinion for me? I really want to go with 1.8A, but these diodes are awefully expensive to be burning any exparamenting with them stupidly. Can the 445 diodes from the projector take 1.8A safely? I gotta know, you know?

I would go max 1.76A but not past 1.8A. But that's not to say all diodes can take that amperage anyway.

I would follow this tutorial for getting the most out of each diode. Of course, only if your driver has a potentiometer, which the Mohgasm Linear doesn't.

What is your power source in the project ? Both drivers need different numbers of batteries.

1, 18650 cell, at the moment. That's not enough for the Mohgasm, though, is it. One of my hosts has an optional 3 AAA adaptor, and I have been known to rewire those from 3 in series to use 3 10440 cells in paralell with a pcb from a protected 18650, and you have a enough power to run a microflex maxed out in the space of 3 AAA cells. 3 AAA cells aren't even close to enough to do that. I have some AAA size dummy batteries floating around, come to think of it, I guess I could get 2 10440 cells in series without modding anything. I think those will make enough current, allbeit not for very long. HMMMM, that was a very good point, and good question, I hadn't really considered the batteries. I hate when that happens. Will 2, CR123 cells stacked in series fit into the space of a 18650?

Normally two 16340/18350 will fit instead of one 18650 but for some host it is a tight fit. You may need some tweaking to fit two batteries.
The flexdrive max out at 1.5A but only with a voltage higher than one battery. Even 4.2V don't suffice. With one 3.7V battery it max out at 1.3-1.4A
You will need at least two flexdrive to reach 1.8A

Are you saying you can have:

2 flexdrives + 1 battery to reach 1.8A
and
1 flexdrive + 2 batteries (>4.2V) to go past 1.5A as well?

It is the same choice of a pickup truck vs a sportcar. Both vehicles will take you there where you want. :D

I'd be willing to bet that I could stuff 2 flexdrives into a single 12x30 module case. I can't really think of any reason to do so, but I bet I could.
