I have a standard twist AA black mini maglite. I also plan on buying an LPC-826 diode. Is there any way I can make a basic LM317 and fit inside the flash light? Also, what could I use as a heatsink? I also have Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound left over from my computer if that helps. Any help is appreciated.

i don't think you can fit a whole lm317 in there. i think i have seen people just use a resistor and direct drive it. you need an aixiz or similar module and some kind of heat sink to fit that into, that fits in to mags head.

Those little AA Maglites don't have a lot of room inside...

I showed a tutorial style build for them just because there were so many 'kipkay blinded' people trying to make them into lasers.

In my thread, I show how it can be done properly using a FlexDrive, and a 14650 Li-Ion battery.

But it is still a tight little build...
