I'm wondering who out there might be able to help me with the creation of some copies of what might seem like the world's most boring host (and I hope "host" doesn't scare anyone off, because these are barely even as complex as heatsinks).

Basically, I'm looking for a 64mm long tube, of 14mm in outer diameter, and 12mm in inner diameter, that is open on one end only and stops roughly 2mm short of the other end. Here's a schematic:

With a host of this (tiny) size, I realize the cost is probably more about your time in figuring it out, and shipping, than it is about the aluminum material cost. So I'd probably try to order more than one. Maybe 5?

If the stop surface (inside) doesnt have to be flat i can help you with these,

On a slightly different note, would it also work if there is a threaded cap at one end?

That's what I was thinking, BUT if the battery was supposed to be there, the drill bit profile will prevent any contact :/

How would one use these hosts, RHD? I don't see much of a way in turning it on off, unless you'd be going for a magnetic switch. I also don't see a way to easily disassemble the laser should it be needed.

If you're going for Aixiz direct pressfit on one end, take note that Aixiz modules are actually at around 11.85mm wide, instead of 12.

Copper and aluminium modules made by other members can differ from that, and green laser modules made of brass are another story all together.

Aixiz are 11.79-12.12 the variation is ridiculous, but DTR's are right on 11.97 every single time.

No problem, it was my pleasure. :D
Thanks to you also for the LPF donation!

Can't wait to see what you're making.

No prob. I don't donate nearly enough.

I'm making the tiniest 2.5W laser yet. Even smaller than my Photinos.

Is there a 10440 that will put out this
many amps? I know there are LiPos that
will, but not sure about the 10440s. If
that is the case, then one with the
terminals on one end could be used to
eliminate the flat bottoming issue.

No, not even close. Plus, a.10440 wouldn't fit anyway.
