M140 @ 1.8A - yes or no?

What is the general consensus on running an M140 at 1.8A? Is that foolish, adventurous or sort of common?

Also, is there any consensus on the lifetime of an M140/H140 at higher powers - say 1.6-1.8A?

Or am I behind the curve and are there 2.0A builds starting to become common?
