Low powered 445nm diode

I have a Casio A140 diode pressed in module. The diode works but for some reason it low efficiency. I have performed tests on this diode and it gives out 1/5 the output that normal A140 diodes put out. After viewing the spot unfocused I assume that this is due incomplete coating of the die. There are non emission lines in between normal lines. Instead of a normal rectangular spot it is a rectangular spot with horizontal strips of no light. This diode will be a nice one for someone who wants to build a low powered 445nm. I am not one of those people.
@ 1.1 AMP diode puts out 200mW.

What current does it begin lasing?
What is the optical power at the point it begins lasing?
Is it just as hot at 1.1A as the regular 445nm diodes?
 
I might take it if it doesn't turn into a super heat generator with that input. I still might take it even if it does...
 
if the problem is the coating, probably it will heat just alike a 445 common casio heats at 1.1amp. Maybe a little more, because of the reflectivity of the laser, absorving light on himself.
 
I have not tested the lasing threshold of this laser though I assume it to be the same amperage as a normal A140 diode.
