I know there are some experts here, wondering if you could point me in the right direction.
I want one to use for getting drunk and looking at the planets. Mainly jupiter, saturn, mars, and venus. Oh and i may use it to track my progress in using my 200mw dilda to cut the moon in half. Could anybody recommend a decent scope?

My recommendation (If space and money permits) would be a dibsonian reflector style telescope. They are relatively cheap and don't require too much experience to operate. The only downsides of this type of telescope is the sheer size of the thing; you may also want to consider a "truss" style dobsonian if money isn't an issue. I use to have a Zhumel Z12, not sure if they're made anymore; you could see jupiter with it on a clear night...
