Looking for a 473nm or 589nm handheld/lab laser

I've lately been searching a lot for 473 and 589nm lasers and I'm quite sure you guys could help me further. I want either a 473nm or 589nm handheld/lab laser that has an output of at least 50mw. I've asked CNI lasers for a price on a 473nm 50mw handheld and they would charge me 420$+80$ shipping for it. It's not that I don't want to pay 500$ for such a nice wavelength, it's more that I'm quite sure there are cheaper ones around of good quality.

So my question is, is there anyone around here that can tell me if there are any sites selling 473/589nm lasers with at least 50mw output, for under 500$? They can be lab lasers or handhelds, I don't care too much about it being portable or not.

Thanks

That's a tough one. You may get lucky on ebay for a lab laser (B&W tec) for 473. Lasever has a bad rep here but they sold me a 100mW+ 473nm handheld in your price range, but they ripped off one of our members so they're hit or miss.

As for 589, CNI or ebay resales (which do not happen).

You may also get lucky in the B/S/T section, every now and again people sell them.

I did read about lasever having those great 80mw 473's. Sad to hear that they've ripped a member off, definitely not going to risk that. I guess I'll might just go for the CNI 50mw then.

Thanks for your advice.

What's your actual budget, besides being "under $500" ?
Where are you located?

you can forget u will find any legit 473 lasers handheld for under 500 i dont think those exist, even laserbtb offer them only up to 30mW and they ask for that 541$ way over your budget so you need to rethink if you thought u could get them cheaper..

CNI offered me a 50mw 473nm for 420$+shipping actually. I know CNI is quite expensive with lasers, which is why I thought there may be cheaper ones out there.

is your heart set on a dpss 473? because diodes DTR sells do 462nm, only 11nm away. although that's enough to make a color difference, much like 520 and 532

Yeah I'm pretty sure I want a 473nm and not a 462. I believe the 473nm color is just better looking.

Jetlasers has 30mW 473nm for $379-$399. Their lasers tend to be overspec, so you may get one very close to 50mW. They are the only ones I have seen with 473nm that cheap, outside of B&W tech labbies.

Jetlasers is the same as LaserBTB right? Also, only if I really can't find a nice 50mw that fits in my budget, I might go for one of those.

I remember reading on the forums that someone bought a JetLasers 473nm unit & it ended up LPM'ing at 150mW!!!

Edit: I can't seem to find the thread again, but KapHn8d had his peak at over 100mW

Not quite. The host are different, and I have yet to hear of someone getting an underspec JetLasers laser. In fact, I can't recall anyone having anything but minor issues with JetLasers, and they have excellent customer service.

Edit: wow, $399 for up to 100+mW 473nm... me likely..

Oh, now I see. I must have been confused with another website. The hosts do look very nice.
