Wow, Sharp has been very busy with new laser diodes in the past year. Seems like we have more to expect. Hopefully, very soon.

Whoa ok time to look into those sharp RGB's I guess. Doubt anyone has any yet based on the publication. I'd be thrilled to have a handheld orange laser, even if it were R+G. And white. And magenta. and lemon yellow...... though I'd want to be able to adjust it on the fly.

BUT we have no drivers that can support adjustment while ON that are small enough. Where are the small electronics experts at?? This is the time to shine!

Just curious, why are there no 532nm? Are these not sold to regular buyers? 532nm seemed like a better green than the 520, in my opinion. But I know that 532nm is pretty expensive at high mW.

Also, I see a 530nm. Would a person even be able to tell the difference really?(versus 532)

No 532nm diodes? You could probably buy one, but they aren't currently used commercially and would be very expensive. Haven't looked but I'm guessing they're still having issues with the higher wavelength diodes in terms of efficiency, life time etc. DPSS is still the cheaper alternative for 532nm.

520nm diodes are well suited to use in devices such as video projectors and as such are mass produced and readily available.

No, you wouldn't see much if any difference between 530nm and 532nm, maybe if you had them right next to each other but the difference would be minuscule.
