Hey guys,

Sent LG an email asking how much it should cost for them to build a 5mW 650nm and Scott told me it is quite expensive, due to the testing, manufacturing etc...

I know only LG will be able to tell me the real price, but it surely can't be that expensive? Im guessing $40 or something?

Help needed :)

Why not have one of the veteran builders here make you one? Any vet with a spectrometer can check cheap diodes to make sure it's 650/660nm and not a 670/680. Then just make a simple driver to run it at 5mW. DIY pen hosted pointers are a pain but we have builders who've done it well.

LaserGlow sells rebranded CNI lasers, they typically don't manufacture anything themselves. They import from CNI then test and bin the products for resale.

Great idea!
I just need to find someone who can sell me a quality 650nm 5mW pen haha. Any advice?

Edit: Is a 640nm 5mW pointer possible?

^638nm huh?

Im guessing the color be almost the same as 635nm, but a new wavelength is always something I would love to have. So...anyone willing to make me a 5mW 638nm pointer in that exact host? :)

Lol was just answering the question. And you could post a WTB in the B/S/T.

hmmm... i have some 5mw 635 diodes and have successfully made multiple jayrob pens, i guess the issue would just be driving it. also i have an X4 lpm sooooo testing to see if its actually 5mw wouldn't be possible.
