i received my 2 modules from lazerer the other day and i find that in one of them the beam exits the lens very off center. it's so far off i think the beam is being "clipped". anyone have an idea to remedy this? i'd hate to ship it back. at this time i don't have an lpm, but the beams from both modules appear to have the same intensity. i can't help but think this condition affects the power of the module.

Expand the dot and see what shape it is. That is how you can tell if it is being clipped or not.

My ol' green pointer had this issue. You need to realign the YVO/KTP carriage so it's centered properly (mine was off to the side). It's a bit of a hairy process, but it can be done. I don't really know much but I was able to do it. You need to place a guide scratch so as not to rotate the carriage.

I should add that it could just be the expanding lens but my lens was off because the YVO/KTP was off. Beam quality greatly improved after realignment also.

Did you try fixing that thing or what? What's the deal there?

yep edit button is a must also whats your avatar it kind-of creeps me out:D:D

EDIT; your last post was fine being one day later your previous two should have been combined

Capisce! I definitely understand the first two should have been combined. Sorry about that. I can take it!!! :spank:

Regarding my avatar.... It's not everyday someone famous gets a mugshot like that. It's one of the greatest photos to come out of the justice system. :D

it seems the first lens after the xtal had been glued off-center. i may try to re-glue it to the brass. i'm a pipe fitter by trade and just can't stand things that are off center, not square or out of plumb. glad i bought 2....

It's Nick Nolte when he got arrested for DUI on Sept. 11, 2002 in California:

Clearly, not anymore.

OP. Most like its off center from the Expanding Lens. THis Lens Usually sits on time of the Crystal Set.

To fix this you would have to Break the Glue Seal then re align the expanding lens then Use Some type of Adhesive to hold it back in place. I like to use Arctic Thermal Adhesive.

This is the same problem I had. But the reason the expanding lens was placed wrong was because the crystal set was improperly placed over the diode first. I had to reseat the yvo/ktp in the proper spot and then realign the expanding lens. Beam quality took a high leap as a result.

i tried to recenter the collimation lens on my module using crazy glue (yeah, i know now) and screwed up the lens. this is a nice high power mod and i'd like to replace the lens. maybe the first lens in a 3 element aixiz would work? i'd hate to scrap this module.

^^^ Can you please Post a picture of the Lens that got Messed Up.?

I can Find you Replacement.:)

nm I think this is what you Want:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/M8-Frame-Be...738?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6617915a

Comes with Both Optics If the Expander lens also Needs Replacement. But if it doesn't i would just leave it alone.

when you go to replace it Use Thermal Adhesive.

edit:

If you have a Dead Green laser lying around you might get Lucky nd It might have what you already need to fix your New Modules.
