Well... I don't normally post on here... I used to, but have not frequented the LPF forums in a very long time. I am more present currently on a different forum, and some of you may know me from there as well...
I do see that there are quite a few posts out there on how to protect/preserve laser diodes... and I have the ultimate solution for every application.
I have tried many things to ensure the protection of every diode I use from static shock, but have not seen anything that has worked this well! This works by absorbing the ESD at the diode level!
For those of you unfamiliar with the LASORB device, it is an absorber for ESD shock that works like no other. This device was developed by Pangolin, and I am only offering them for sale... but wanted to make the rest of the community here aware of the availability of such an item (in case you didn't already know)...
See here for videos of this device in action:
YouTube - Lasorb's Channel
At $9 a piece ($8.10 with the coupon below) this can be used to protect every diode... and you will not have to worry about killing the diode by ESD.
The best way to protect any diode is to connect a LASORB across the terminals before the diode is even extracted from the host, or as soon as it is removed from the tray.
To order, please use the link below in my signature. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me...
