laserglow's Herc & X10DR at work 147 foot distance

Re: laserglow's Herc X10DR at work 147 foot distan

That has got to be some kind of balloon popping record.

Re: laserglow's Herc X10DR at work 147 foot distan

ohmygod what laser did u use!?!?!?!?!?! seem the little bugger is worth the price $500

Re: laserglow's Herc X10DR at work 147 foot distan

I may be mistaken, but I believe that vid is from Windstrings and the laser would be his 400mw+ Herc.

Re: laserglow's Herc X10DR at work 147 foot distan

think about the poor kids at the fair! think about the kids :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( ;D

Re: laserglow's Herc X10DR at work 147 foot distan

That balloon met its demise pretty quickly. :o The amazing thing is that no lenses were needed at the business end of the laser beam. I wonder how far that setup could pop balloons if one used a lens at the far end of the beam.

By the way, Windstrings should have panned the camera back to the balloon before saying "Turn it on." Otherwise, he might have missed the action.

Re: laserglow's Herc X10DR at work 147 foot distan

thats some serious sh*t.
if i owned an aries or a herc, i would definitely buy the x10dr no doubt!

The laser does use external lenses. laser glow's 10XDR

Re: laserglow's Herc X10DR at work 147 foot distan

I know, but I don't think any lenses were used to focus the beam onto the balloon, though.

Re: laserglow's Herc X10DR at work 147 foot distan

I just checked LaserGlow's website again and it seems that the X10DR could focus a beam as well as expand it. Aftrer all, I don't think a 2 cm-wide beam would be able to burn stuff very well otherwise!

There's a 300ft balloon pop on Youtube using a telescope as a beam expander to much the same end as the X10DR.

ixfd64 was talking about no lenses on the other end of the beam, meaning near the balloon.Btw, you don't need the extender if you use a lens at the other end.You could most likely do it over 1 mile if you had a big enough lens :D (though with the extender you don't need that big of a lens) . Anyway, that thing at a fair would be tons of fun! No one would ever know what's causing it :D

I wonder if you could use it to shoot the laser through windows and burn your neighbors furniture. "WTF WHO MELTED A HOLE IN MY NEW BIG SCREEN TV!?!?" ;D

Who needs to go out and buy a knife to slash someone's tires when you can do it from the comfort of your living room?
