Hi All,

What technology, equipment and methods can be used to assess a laser unit which arrives from e-bay with absolutely no specifications, labels or information about the device? This is a question for an assignment I'm doing, and I have absolutely no idea where to start :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers

Ruby

Sam's Laser FAQ. Google that and you'll have more information than is easily absorbed. :)

a simple answer is to meter it with a (lpm) laser power meter. if it is not a diode laser, than you can use a couple of ir filters and lpm to see how much infrared the unit is kicking out. that is where i wonder about fleebay laser safety is the greens that are powerful and cheap.
