I was wondering what's going to be the difference between using a 3 AAA versus using 2 CR123 batterys for a 240-300 mW laser build?
I wouldn't think power would be effected since the circuit is regulated by a FlexDrive. Usage time probably would be less with the AAA, though don't know how much. AAA is cheaper to get than CR123.
I have have to buy a flashlight since my Dorcy is designed differently.. where I would have to wedge a custom heatsink from the outside in since that was the original design of the LED's plastic lense. (unlike the the Dorcy Jr where the cap has to be screwed off to remove the reflector & lense). If there's no difference in output power and usage time on the AAA is reasonable, then I'm going for a 3 AAA host.. I'm looking at the MXDL flashlights
