I've given up on decent uk based 26650's

Hi all,
So I've been looking around for some protected decent 26650's for my laser I'm about to order , however I can't seem to find any decent ones.
Hours of searching have rendered my fingers incapable of moving and my electric bill is through the roof :/ aha :crackup:
I am not going to buy from abroad (due to customs) nor am I intending to buy those cheap and poor quality "---fire" brands.
Panasonic, Sanyo, and any other trusted brands are ideal :yh:
Oh yeah, I'd like some protected ones preferably. Any body have any ideas as to where I can buy some in the uk?

Hi why don't you want to use 18650 lithion what are you running and how many batteries

I'm running sinners ms-ssw host. My soon to be laser will clock at around 2.5W and it runs 2x 26650 cells.
Any ideas?

Does the the host hold the 18650 or is it built a lot wider in diameter for the bigger battery just that in ny opinion the 26650 has no real advantage over a 18650

Here are some good trustfire brand protected 26650's. Fasttech ships worldwide, so I'm pretty sure shipping won't be an issue. I ordered these batteries and they arrived in perfect condition.

Although I would STRONGLY advise not using protected 26650's in the MS-SSW host. Simply because there is VERY limited space for batteries inside the host. It is difficult to fit even unprotected 18650's in, let alone protected 26650's. Instead I would get these.

King Kong ICR26650 3.7V 4000mAh Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries (2-Pack)

They are KingKong batteries which is a very tested and reliable battery. Since they are flat-top you will also need a magnetic spacer for them.

Round Super Strong Rare-Earth Magnets (5-Pack)

But even then with the shorter length you may still find it difficult to fit them in. You may have to unscrew the pill to allow for the extra length and/or modify the tailcap (which is what I had to do).

If worse comes to worse the MS-SSW will come with a battery tube, which will enable you to use 18650's instead of 26650's.

I am not familiar with XTAR batteries, but they make very good battery chargers.
I have one of their SP2 models; they're not the cheapest, but IMO, they are a quality unit.
Try them and let us know how they work, hopefully their batteries are as good as their other products.

18650 FTW!!!

You have many many more options with 18650. However, if the host is already designed to take 26650, folks often say good things about the "king kong" brand... And if I remember correctly, king kong is from an island in the Pacific, not necessarily China

Also, easier to find protected 18650 if you so desire. (keep in mind that a protection circuit's height is added to the 65mm length of the cell, usually 2-3mm)

While the King Kongs perform marginally better, the 26650 you linked to, the xtars appear to have 2mm protruding button tops that will make runnign them in series much easier.
