Interested in getting a Green Laser need help!

As the title or the thread says im interested in getting a green laser and i have some questions that i would love to be answered.

What mW will pop a baloon and light a match?

If i get a laser that does pop a baloon and light a match do i need saftey?

Will all green lasers show the beam?

Where could i get a fairly cheap but good quality laser that does this stuff^?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and please dont post any threads cause i read most of them and i still cant decide especially when people keep saying that they dont get what they payed for.

Please feel free to post a link to a laser that you would suggest to me?

Again, the information you're looking for is all on here, if you haven't found it, it's because you haven't read in enough detail. I'm very nice indeed, so:

• Wicked Lasers has a reasonable chart showing what each power can achieve. Look on their site.
• If you'd read the site better you'd know our thoughts on safety. Get goggles if you're serious about lasers. No argument.
• Various factors contribute to beam visibility - nearly all green lasers will cast a beam at night or in smoke, the more powerful ones will produce brighter beams which can be seen more easily in daytime.
• The thread I linked to has all the major retailers of OK green pointers listed. Do your homework. DealExtreme, O-Like and Rayfoss are all companies with OK reputations - DX for cheaper pointers only.
• Most cheap lasers come with a battery, but if in doubt, a rechargable battery and charger can be had for under $10.
• The more reputable companies will stand by their claims of true output power - DX lasers rarely meet their spec, but O-Like and Rayfoss generally do.

Lasers for just anyone you want 5mW at most after that you start risking your eyes more the higher you go in mW's which means milliwatts the measure of the lasers output power. Read up if you plan on really getting int the hobby

If you were looking for a good manufacturer Rayfoss would be a good start.

I'd recommend a 50mW unit. It won't light matches, but will pop balloons when focused. Most people here will advise against starting off with too much power, I also started with a 50mW greenie.

Once you feel confident with the 50mW, and know about basic safety, move up to a 150 or 200mW unit. They will do the full range of burning tricks.

Also- get yourself a pair of goggles. Goggles are cheap and easy to replace, eyeballs are not. Keep that in mind when deciding on whether you want goggles or not.

As goninanbl00d said, a 50mW would be nice for you.
Well, I have to suggest you to buy the one I reviewed here. It's 50mW rated (about 80mW true), focusable, can pop baloons and light matches with ease.
Now, remember, wear goggles !
