I'm going to buy an LG Hercules 500 ...

Hi to all the forum.
My name is Richard, I live in Padova, Italy.
I have buyed and assembled about ten lasers using the beautiful Jayrob's Stainless Steel kits (6 greens, 2 reds and 2 blues), and I was very satisfied of my work, but now I wish to to buy my definitive green laser.
I have checked every company around the net, looked to every model, and heard every opinion by satisfied or unsatisfied users.
My eyes have fallen onto the marvellous LG Hercules, the 500 mW model, that I will buy with 10x expander, tripod, tripod adapter and AC Power adapter.
As I struggled to raise the money, I wish to be more than sure before order the laser.
The point are fews but importants:

1) Can I consider Hercules a definitive green laser, aka the best portable available in the world?
2) Whats about the customer service? In the past I have read about some issues happened to two unluckly users ...
3) Whats about the customs? I live in Italy, and in Italy the law permits only 1 mW laser pointer.
I do not think that the Hercules 5 points FDA certification will be enough to avoid custom confiscations! I do not accept the confiscation of an item so expensive!

From what other Italian members have told me was that more than half their lasers were confiscated by Italian customs. When they see that big, beautiful Herc laser, I'm sure they will keep it. So if you order it make sure that LG will refund your money if the laser is confiscated by customs.

Jeez.. that thing has to be waaaay more illegal than any laser could be.... i seriously doubt a legit one of those would make it through customs hahahahahahahaha.

But @ Minamoto.... I would seriously think about getting a cover up for this if italian customs are really that bitchy about lasers.

The problem is due to a bunch of dickheads that in the past have shots the eyes of some football players and a lot of airplanes.
Another problem is that the customs charge the items of about 40% of the declared value !!
No, LG do not refund anything if the laser will be confiscated .. only if they will be damaged!
I'm thinking to use the A.P.O. .. a friends of mine is American and work in a military base here in Italy. I know that A.P.O. is not checked and charged of any fee, right?

For the rest, anything has buyed this beast in the past? How about it? Satisfied? A 500 mW is bright enough? It works for ywars without loose his brightness and perfection?

There is a definite risk of that getting stuck....somewhere in customs.

You know how the customs guys like it..... may be a good way to break them of their habbits... If they test that product out they may get some severe burns deep within that will be mighty difficult to explain at a local ER :shhh:

@ OP I have a hercules style laser that has been known to output over 500mW, and let me tell you it is too big for most things... If you want just the power, you are better off gettin a LG aries. The hercs are more of a cross bred joke than anything else, though mine only cost $300 US.... not multi thousand. If I paid retail for this laser, I would have to say that they are NOT worth it.

No, I do not want only the power. I want the quality, the precision, the brightness, and the reliability in the time.
Thus, I need to mount a 10x optics.
Only Dragonlasers and Freaklasers offers optics for this lasers, but nothing to compare to the LG quality!

I know... take a look at the other high power lasers offered by LG such as the ARIES series... you will get your high power and quality that way too.

I love my Hercules 650...

It has a very stable output and a nice beam profile.

I also have the X10 beam expander and the power suply.

Thing is rated 711,3 mW avg power and peak 777.8 but my LPM show's in the 800.

How much time ago You have buyed it? The output power is always the same since You have buyed it? I hope it doesn't suffers of power loss or other issues after working a lot ...

Yes i have the Herc 650...

I have it for about 2 weeks now.... Stable as a rock.
It comes in this nice case, and today i cutted some foam to fit the parts.
The active fan build in will help it's lifetime and has 100% duty cycle.

Can u say, mine is bigger then yours ?

Yes, i needed to cut it for those parts myself (dunno why)

It's easy as 1 2 3 sinds you can brake cubes off the foam..

My Fogmachine just arrived with 40 liters liquid (my back is sorrow)

GOne test it out with the lasers (ready for unboxing)
