I think I'm obsessed with these Rayfoss waterproof hosts...

Green, Silver, Silver, Black

I bought the Silver one sometime last month and it now has a 200mw Green module from nexbox360. The other three came in today and now I need to find some more modules to put in them.

those are awesome hosts. I've been tempted to buy one many times, but something else always takes my attention.

it's really easy to put a green module that's 12mm (just press-fit), and I have not tried to put a red/blu in one, but really want to.

Want to buy one? I certainly don't need 3 empty hosts.
 
A single CR123a/RCR123/16340.

Depends on the module you install as to what battery voltage.
 
yes these host are cool i have 2 of these myself to, you just have to sand the green 12mm module a little bit to around 11,80mm or else it wont fit then you just have to press fit it into the heatsink part and screw the rest of the body together and you have yourself a nice green laser! i have yet to try and put a aixis in there and mod it so i can focus it.
 
just make sure that when you press the module into the heatsink part you do it straight, if not you can damage your module and/or the beam wont exit 100% trough the hole in the front of the host.
 
I've made about 5 of these myself (sold a couple)

Getting the beam to exit all out the hole isn't too hard, but getting it to exit straight is damn near impossible.

Nice host though, watch the piece of glass at the front; the AR coating is damaged with isopropyl alcohol.
 
i usually twist that lens out i dont want it to be waterproof, not planning on ever putting it into the water:p i just like these hosts for the looks and build quality.

i use a little bit of thermal grease on the module to it seems to help it slide in there more easy

but yea its still hard to get it 100% straight, someone should make a tool for this lol.
 
would it work to take the tailcap off and put a flat piece of metal on the module then use a vice to slowly push it in?
