Hello, I am about do one interesting build. I want it small so I have purchased the following parts.

1. 445nm 2 Watt + blue laser diode from DLP projector 445nm 2 Watt + blue laser diode from DLP projector | eBay

2. Host - https://sslrelay.com/odicforce.com/...a3mpcquZKbSVlxe&shop_param=cid=24&aid=OFL176&

3. Driver - https://sslrelay.com/odicforce.com/...Xa3mpcquZKbSVlxe&shop_param=cid=1&aid=OFL179&

4. Lens - https://sslrelay.com/odicforce.com/...Xa3mpcquZKbSVlxe&shop_param=cid=1&aid=OFL171&

5. Battery - https://sslrelay.com/odicforce.com/...ICXa3mpcquZKbSVlxe&shop_param=cid=1&aid=OFL5&

Well, the host takes one battery and that is why I took step-up driver, cause otherwise I would be able to supply the voltage needed since this is very tiny host and takes one AA battery.

My concerns are of course the power issues with this battery and how fast is it gonna drain the battery since the driver will supply the diode to a max of 1.5-1.6 amps - I reckon about 20 minutes max with this battery?

Also is this driver gonna push the diode to 1W max with this sort of supply? That is my plan, to get it to around 1W with the option to transfer the diode in futer for more powerful project. Otherwise it will give it good life time?

I need an expert point of view to what is gonna happen with this build :D

for 2w of 445, you will need heatsinking! Which means you will have to change host, or modify it. Also, where is your aixiz module? :p

I don't want to run it on 2W output, I want about 1W output, just the diode is capable of 2W. I don't need an axis module on this one :p it has some kind a weird aluminum thing that holds the diode. Don't worry about he heat sink I will modify it. :)

An AA will not supply anywhere near enough current and even if it did the cell would last only a few minutes...

You might want to find a different host ;)

A guideman for example will have better heatsinking, more room and maybe even nicer looks... It also takes an 18650 battery

I meant AA size, but it is 14500 battery that I am going to use, capable of 900mAh.

Yes, this host has holder for diode. But it is designed for 200mW red .. and it gets hot using it. I'm also a bit concerned about the contacts and the switch. They are nothing much in this host.
Different lens can be used with this host .. but if you want to make some kind of custom heatsink .. I don't see how you would be able to use the original lens holder.
And if you don't want to use the original lens holder .. you would really be better with some other host, and aixiz module, which accepts the lens directly, and can be easily fitted with extra heatsink.

I might get actually another host, but I think I will be able to add enough heatsink and still use the lens holder, I have the perfect lens for the purpose :)

I will post new topic when I finish the build. Which if the post is fast enough will be after the 10th this month or if not, cause I have to leave for about two months.... well in two months :D

I'm just grasping, but maybe this host will work for you?
https://sslrelay.com/odicforce.com/...krIByoP3a&shop_param=cid=24&aid=OFL166%2F001&

I assume it's the rayfoss host, but i've never messed with them either

however, they are advertised for a green module and a single CR123 battery.

If you were using the top end of an aixiz module with the driver soldered directly to the diode, it should give you enough room left over (difference between it and a green module) to use an 18650 battery.

anyone know for sure?
I'd hate for you to buy it and then me be wrong...
btw, odic is gonna have a batch of my c6 sinks soon...he's one of the people who bought our the rest of my supply
