Hello guys...I was checking youtube for some laser videos and I found this one with a guy who has bought a Green laser pointer 100mw from DealExtreme and he said he modded it. This is really cool I've never seen such a bright beam.

WATCH IT:>>>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mF8JKwzxMI

Does anyone know how did he do the beam so bright???

You call that smoke/fog in the air. Even a 5mw laser looks like that if the conditions are right. Notice how the jackass disabled comments on his video because he didn't want people to post this?

Yeah I noticed that comments are disabled but are you sure this is with smoke/fog? it cant be done with any modding...?

Yeah, I'm sure. Here's one of my youtube videos showing what a bit of smoke can do to a laser beam.

Like Coherent said, all that is is fog. Here's another good example with 30mW and 170mW green lasers:

I see...thank you very much guys:) but how can you do this smoke trick...?
Just buy a fog machine...you can get some cheap ones for $20 and they are very worth it. I think Bed Bath and Beyond sells one for around $20, check out their website.

Is that a Muzzlelite stock for a 10-22? If not, where can I get one?

Makes you think he is associated with Deal Extreme the way he keeps dropping their name ;)

smoke and mirrors, its that simple

for a simple homemade fog machine...

1: Removed due to safety concerns

2: A couple pounds of dry ice and a mister with a trigger, keep a few chunks around your beams perimeter and spray your dry ice rather than dunking the whole thing in water. Personally I find it much more conserving and even. Make sure you get your self a pair of wooden tongs or some very thick gloves

3. One of these http://www.mainlandmart.com/foggers.html...and a cup of water that will fit the darn thing...not sure if theres gonna be enough fog to light your 5mw to a 200mw on camera, but if you have the money I'd say its worth a try :-/

Everytime you see a picture/video where the laser beam is COMPLETELY filled and it looks really thick, there's a very high chance the film maker used fog for the shooting.

My lasers look like that after i use my "tobacco water pipe".
lol

I have also noticed that Candles make my beam look that way. i have some pix of thick beams using just candles.
