about 10 minutes with my manual resulted in this - a power graph of the output for my 35mw WL Executive Advanced over a 2 minute testing period.

note - this is not calibrated and uses only a simple CdS cell, so the unit is good for producing graphs only and not as a power meter

i thought that CdS cells where non linear. like logarithmic or something.
phototransistors are just as easy to use and are linear
i was going to use a PicAxe, which is a basic stamp clone in one chip, to generate a current/power graph
donno if you have seen the 'Researching a DIY power meter...' thread

yea that's what made me think of it, and i would've used a phototransistor but i don't have any on me at the moment :-/
