Hey everyone!

Does anyone have any idea where I can get some decent high powered DC motors with sprockets? I want to make my mountain bike electric but I'm having trouble finding motors + sprockets. Will need to move 150Kg max ( Me + Bike + batteries, motor, controls etc. ). Looking for something that needs 12V or 24V. Power will probably be from a lead acid battery. :D

Cheers,

Adam

Some washing machine or electric scooter motors might be suitable, although modern washing machine motors might be AC (DX have supposed 1kW 12v->240v adapters at under $40 but this reduces the control you have without tweaking). With those motors you'd need to connect the drivetrain yourself (salvage the belt or gears from a washing machine and they might be suitable).
