As the title says I'm new to laser pointers and I'd like to start making my own. I know this is no easy task so I was wondering if you guys new the most-beginner friendly guide that will teach me how to make my own burner? (Prefer green or red as I don't want to dish out too much money yet...) I bought one, and I know I can afford to buy a burner, but I would feel so much more accomplished if I were able to make my own, even if it is crappy.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Hey... new to lasers. Want to build my own bur

well, psyder offers a good guide. read around the tutorials page. it really isnt insanely complicated unless you inted on trying to build the actual driver and machine the heatsink.

Refer to the buy, sell, trade section to get cheap phr sled ($12) you can also have it harvested and put into a module for around $18 or $19 (Drew is who does this)

also in the thread look at the sticky for rkcstr's micro-drive....will require 7.24v but is half the price of the flex drive...
