Hi(sorry if this is in the wrong section) , My friend gave me his broken laser and i would like to repair it. he said that the beam is visible during the day. he also said it could burn thin plastic and lit matches. i don't know the Mw (i don't believe in the 800Mw from the sticker..) and i don't know where it came from. he told me he bought it for 40$. it run on two AAA.

Looks like the pins on the laser diode have broken off. Won't be easy to fix.

Are the pins sheared off flush? Looks like it but perhaps there is a little stub left. Could you take a pic at a bit of an angle?

Beware if you get close to fixing it. Specifically if you are able to power the diode again, it will emit dangerous IR laser light. It will look dim red but its really very strong & just 'dim' since its close to invisible.

With all green lasers if you see any red light, no matter how 'dim' it seems, Do Not look into it.

you might want to resize that! but from the looks of it, with the broken pins, you're out of luck :(

it will be really hard to repair? do you think it worth repairing it?

It's not worth repairing IMO but you could get another module altogether to replace it.

I tried to fix a PHR that I broke a pin on and it took 2 hours and it wasn't even close. But, atleast I learned how delicate to be with a PHR instead of a 12x or something expensive...
