i have 5mw green laser. I opened it and looked on the electronics but i just don't know what i should iron-soldering, in order to overcome the device's laser light power restriction.

Here are the photos of the electronic components:

I cant see anything on my work pc but this is a never ending question but the short answer is you cant -i mean you could gut it and add your own module in it then it would burn ;)

Put your laser in your oven set at BROIL for 1 hour. When you take it out, make sure you do it bare-handed. Then your laser will burn, YOUR HAND ;D ;D ;D ;D  But seriously, see if you can see a place on the PCB either side that is marked PD. That generally means PHOTO DIODE. You can try a disconnect there, & see if that works, but I make NO PROMISES, & it's NOT MY FAULT if this heats up the whole diode too much & kills it. BUT, the ones I've seen have a wire going from the PCB to the PD, if it does, just snip the wire & insulate the ends with some hot glue. That SHOULD then disable the PD & allow you to tweak the pot a bit, but not too much, & again I'M NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES INCURRED TO YOUR LASER. On the other hand this has always worked for me.

i have seen that there is a way to modify the laser into a buring laser by soldering a component there.

here, like this video : http://il.youtube.com/watch?v=Sf3M-_RUSCM

so i guesse it is possible..

Thank you very much for your attention dudes.. :)

modify:

phoenix77 it is ok, i will not blame you if something goes wrong.. you are here just to help and thanks very much.
can you please tell me what is pcb? i am pretty new in the laser stuff.

do you know any tutorial that shows how to make a buring laser from an existing not burning laser? and again thank you :)

Hey John...
why is it... that some of the new members seem to think they can buy a $1.00 laser and
with some modification.... they can make a GigaWatt burning Laser....  :-? :-? :-?

Wake up and smell the coffee... everything you see on YouTube is not actual fact.

If you want a burning laser..... then buy a burning laser....

It's not possible :)

And if you do do it, it's by overpowering the laser way more than it can handle and you'll get a few minutes use out of it max. There is no substitute for the real thing :)

i have got a 200mw laser which does not burn.

If your 200mW Laser really is 200mW...

use a Magnifying Glass to focus your 200mW laser's beam.... it WILL burn....

I've burnt dark plastic with a focused 50mW red Laser beam..

it is a 200mw, since the beam is not focused enough.

is there a way to focus it?

maybe by opening it and do something?

Do you think opening things up is the answer to everything? Get a mag glass and put it in front of the beam, then put whatever you want to burn in the thinnest part of the beam ;)

If the diode is 5mW you wont get it burining. If u are lucky and the module is just a higher one wich is podmodded to drop 5mW and be legal in USA then just try turning the pot while runing it. (I think its the circle black piece at the right on side B
