i am looking for any color preferably 405nm but red or green work, greater than or equal to 150mw output without a boosting driver, and it has to be 40$ or less
i am realitivly new to this and do not know any websites that i can trust for a good diode.
any suggestions?

You won't find 150mW of 532nm for $40 or less, it just isn't going to happen. You are limited to violet/blue or red.

As Photonz mentioned go to laserbtb.com, they have some great lasers for pretty cheap!

How much power do you need?

You actually could get a 150mw 532nm from the cheap ebay lasers. These are hit and miss. You could get a dud or you could also get something powerful. I don't know if there is already a documented case but it CAN happen. Stop saying it just isn't gonna happen because it can happen.

Also, the OP is looking for a diode not a complete laser.

So I checked out the website and I don't think I can connect to it, any other links?
And that diode is 80mw in the spec sheet but the issue is I don't want to have to use a boost driver to push it to 150mw cause there is to much of a risk of breaking the diode.

And yes I'm looking for just a diode, preferably 450nm or 405nm, not 532nm

And an output power of about 150mw or higher, doesn't matter that much about the input voltage

Please don't triple post. If you have something to add, click the edit button on the right side.

You will need to spend a little more that $40. You have three choices: (M140-$45-445nm), (S06J-$49-405nm), (PLTB450-$49-450nm). Note that the prices are just the diodes alone.

There is also a PL450 diode which is $37 but can only go 120mW.

If you don't want to use a boost driver you can either use a linear driver or a buck driver. The latter is much better because it is the most efficient. BTW, there is no harm in using a boost driver to drive a diode to 150mW as long as you do it right.

Here is the site : https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/445-m140-didoes

Ebay seller tech hood has 150mw 532nm modules for around $50. You wouldn't have to worry about driver. They are ready to be dropped in a host.

Edit : I see he doesn't want 532nm. I'll leave the information just in case :)

Thank you, I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean by editing the post, but can you send like a pm to me or an email to me and tell me like about how to boost right/ or like where I can buy those diodes, like are they each on that website?

They are all available on the website. We get most of our diodes from DTR, the owner of the webpage.

Please search the forum for your questions. You will have plenty of answers here. Use the search bar on the bottom of the page.

The PL450B is a diode... not a complete laser. And it is under $40 from DTR in the link I provided
