Hey guys, I am hoping to use this LED to make a really powerful IR remote.
So I need to power it with 1.7v @ 2a.

Does anyone know of a good driver to accomplish this?

Also, I will be using a PICAXE microprocessor to control it.
I am wondering if I should have the transistor pulsing the led on and off in series with the power supply to the driver, or in series with the led from the output of the driver.

Hey bro, you can use a amc7135 driver that are available, example

adding a amc chip in parallel will increase the current by 350mA you could de-solder 2 of the chips to get 2.1A or de-solder 3 to get 1.75A

You need to put the transistor before the driver too.
