Help a newbie!

Yes another newb thread...I'm fairly new to personal lasers...though I have worked with some pretty bad ass comercial lasers as an engineer.

I've been prowling around here for a while...sorting through recommendations/reviews etc and I decided to ask for some product selection advice.


I want a pocket laser that can pop ballons, light cigarettes, give a nice light show. I don't care about underrated specs as long as it will do these things...


focalprice had some interesting lasers for about 50bucks....again I realize they wont be to spec and arent the best...but if they can do what I want...that's fine with me.

$50 isnt going to get you too much, unless you do a self build. Popping ballons yeah, but lighting ciggys takes a bit more power. Whats your budget?

I would't mind building. In fact I'd probably prefer it....


I'm looking at 75 bucks max budget. Just for fun project.
