Hi I'm 37 male . I've been fascinated with lasers for many years and recently decided to build my own I brought a ten mw red diode with collimating lens from jaycar got made my own driver using the lm317t along with resistors and stuff I found on a schematic on the internet soldered it all together and to my surprise it worked the diode got rather hot fast without a heat sink and was unable to put into a host cause of my inexperience. I blew a few diode's in the process too oops. Anyway I since brought a few modules from DTR and find it much easier since the diode and driver are attached!! I've just today completed my first build using DTRs threaded heat sink with a 700mw red and I'm very happy with the result. So amazed at how onto it some of you people are with lasers just blows me away. Anyway hi all and happy to be amongst such awesome people..
