Good day, laser enthusiasts!

I'm new to both lasers and this forum, and I wanted to say hello and ask a few questions.
I've read over the "I want to build a laser" topic, and I found drivers confusing and I didn't want to mess up my first laser. Because of this, I bought myself a laser module, not a laser diode.

So, my first question is:

Would it brutally murder my poor module if I hot-glued it in place?

and

Are there any safety features I should add to my first laser?

I so far have these features:
A shell, a power switch (which connects/disconnects the power, NOT turn the diode on and off), and a buzzer that goes off when the trigger is pulled. I also do I have laser goggles.

So can you guys think of anything else I should do?

Safety is my #1 concern, here. :tinfoil:

Thanks, a lot! :thanks:

Hot gluing the module in place won't kill it, but it's messy and you have to be careful not to get glue near the diode or lens. It's also a bad idea if you have a high power module as it will heat up very fast and not have anything to dissipate the heat onto.

Safety features are up to you, but again if it's not high power there isn't really any problem.

Can you give more info on the module you have?

storage temperature: 10 - 40 Celsius
working temperature: -10 - 40 Celsius

At 150mW you could use Hot Glue but it is not
recommended. If the module heats up to any
degree the hot glue would no longer hold the
Module securely.

Okay then, but does it make any difference that it has a heatsink built in?

(I'll add my location a little later, thanks for the links and warning about WL. :thanks:)
