Hello Im 26 and from Northern California.

I am a Medical Device Assembly Technician.
Ie. I microscopically solder wires the size of your hair
to a solder pad the size of a grain of sugar.

I have always been fascinated with light and optics since I was very young.
I built contraptions out of 100 watt light bulbs, coffee cans and optics
just to make a small dot on the other side of the room.

When my dad bought me my first laser pointer when I was 9 I became hooked for life.
Since then I have had and lost more <5mW laser pointers then I can remember.
Now I have Lasers up to 135mW, 2 Dragon Lasers Glasses and an HLPM 2.

I have read every book I could find about lasers and optics when in school,
and read about them on the internet. (Hence where I found LPF)
Over time I have became familiar with them and there dangers.
I have been a lurker on LPF for over a year and have read many threads.

Welcome to the forums! Feel free to browse and ask questions. We are here to help you out when we can.

Some important things you need to know, 1 don't double post (2 posts is a row), 2 dont open multiple threads about the same thing. 3 don;t feed the trolls!!

Read the forum rules, FAQ and also the stickies in each sub forum.

Enjoy and have fun.

The tip size I currently use for soldering is 0.015/0.38mm thick.
Its almost too big for my work, I need one even smaller.

The wires I solder are 0.003/0.08mm in diameter.
