I was just wondering what kind of heat-sinks do they use in laser projectors and scanners. Apparently, these projectors must run for a long time in parties and events, so how much duty cycle can they put on and what kind of heat-sinks do you guys use for these projectors and put out a beautiful laser show.

Same as a lab laser. Rectangular heatsink with a fan on the pj for air flow.

Most projectors use lab modules, which use active TEC cooling. Some lower quality modules use powerful fans.

That is what I know.

Look at the pics of the internals- some dual reds have smallish HSs but the green and blue except on mimi PJs are much ;larger thqan most handhelds- some have a fan sucking air thru/around the HS abd there are akslso kept cooler because of the thick baseplace-
All higher power and high quality will have a peltier cooler on the HS and always a fan - On one side it cool but equally hot on the other-very few PJ hs no enclosure fan and bigger ones can have many fans- The better are somewhat sealed systems and can have air filters to help keep out dust-- funny In VERY cold places some PJs need heaters order to work!! DPSS can be very 'cold hearted'.

But even 'cooler' (pun intended) are the water cooled gas Lasers!!
