Green module w/Micro Boost Drive V1?

Is it possible to use a Micro Boost Drive V1 to power a 100mW green module? I broke the standard driver when I removed it to try to fit it inside a little flashlight. :cryyy:

The minimum voltage for the driver is 2.7 volts, and the minimum output is that of the batteries (so 2.7 volts is the lowest), but I know the IR diodes even in 100mW green modules don't pull 2.7 volts... is there a way to still use this driver? Maybe use a 1N4001 diode or two between the driver and the laser diode? If so, would it be in series right?

Thanks in advance!

First, what batteries would you like to use?

Second, the new Micro Boost drive is a boost only driver designed primarily to deliver the high voltage requirements of 405nM diodes.

Check out the Micro Flex drive. It might suit your needs better. Or a rkcstr, depending on what batteries you want to use.

I wanted to use 2 or 3 aaa's. The flashlight I'm using is already set up for this. I realized the microflex would be better but I wanted to avoid ordering more stuff if I could make it work with things I already had around :)
